The only thing is that they can design the game around any robot they build. Interesting, very interesting. Could you build a robot to beat them at their own game?

Sure could. Well... if I couldn't, I bet SOMEONE could.

Most of the FIRST games are designed so there is no "best" robot.
If a game was ever created with a single strategy in mind, I bet 90% of FIRST teams would emulate it.

Some of us have had a lot of practice building FIRST robots.
