Image trouble
I went to our team's page on the FIRST Wiki located HERE and found that we don't have a logo uploaded, or the logo we have is a broken link.
How can I upload an image to the server (can I) so that our logo shows up on that page in the area near the upper right hand side of the page? Also, I am new to Wiki's but want to edit our information more (which I have done a bit of already). Is there any pages that show how to use it - formatting, or other things, or is there a live chat or message board built into the Wiki where I can ask questions? Thanks much. |

Re: Image trouble
You must be registered and logged in to upload a picture. To register go to http://www.firstwiki.org/index.php?t...cial:Userlogin and enter in a username and password and select create new account.
Once you are logged in, you can go to http://www.firstwiki.org/index.php/Special:Upload and upload your picture. There is also a link on the right menu bar when you are logged in. After uploading, it will show you the link format to use for that image. Here is a page with more information about formatting and links to a lot of other usefull stuff http://www.firstwiki.org/index.php/F...ne_edit_a_page There isn't any message board built in, per se, but there are ways to ask questions. If you want to ask a question or discuss something about a certain page, you can use the discussion tab at the top of the page. It brings you to a second wiki page that you can edit with your question. Just make sure to sign your contribution to the "talk" page. You can do that by adding --~~~~ at the end. If you have other questions, see if you can find a page close to that topic and use the talk page for that. Otherwise use the Village Pump: http://www.firstwiki.org/index.php/F...i:Village_pump If you just want to test things out, you can try the sandbox: http://www.firstwiki.org/index.php/FIRSTwiki:Sandbox And of course, you can always ask here if you have more questions. |

Re: Image trouble
first i would recomend getting a log in (even though you can edit stuff anomusly (ip address logged) then when you go to your team page and it says you followed a broken link or page does not exist you can click on create one....when you are on your team page you will see alot of sub topics and at the end of each row there is an edit button....all you need to do is click edit and type your information. to post pictures you can follow the steps that joe said or you can link from other pages.
the wiki software is smart so if you wand to link from another source for an image you just need to type |<url of the photo> and the image will show up. hope this helps |
