Re: What's your plans for the 4th of July?

I'm going up to Houghton, MI (read: waaaaaaaaaaaaaay up north) with my boyfriend and some friends. We're spending the weekend painting their house at Michigan Tech and just relaxing -- it should be a good time!

Re: What's your plans for the 4th of July?

On the 3rd, I'm going to up to the city for the Taste of Chicago, then to watch the fireworks over the water at Navy Pier. On the 4th, I'm going to see one of the largest parades in our area, because 71 will be marching! After that, probably some hanging out with the family and taking it easy.

Andy's 4th schedual:

Wakeup ~4:00 AM
Turn out horses and other barn related tasks 4:30 - 5:30
Work 6:00 - 11:50
Second job 12:00 - 5:00 PM
Home/family realted tasks 5:30 to 7:00 PM
Check on the barn, evening horse feed etc. 7:00 - 8:00 ish
Maybe watch some fireworks from my roof after dusk
Maybe remeber to eat my first solid food of the day before going to bed at 10 PM

Rinse wash and repeat for the rest of the summer except for my 3 days of no work, today being one of them (1 left!).

Make sure you don't add to your schedule, after "Watch some fireworks":

See fireworks land on the the barn
See horse feed ignite
Call fire department

Maybe I think this way because I'm from California where the land is flammable almost everywhere, except on clean pavement. We also have millions of people who use illegal fireworks, or use "safe and sane" fireworks unsafely or insanely.

Are you sure the pavement hasn't caught fire yet? Yeah, there are so many people with illegal fireworks around here, one got set off right in front of my house last night, those things are loud. Last year, someone on my street was setting them off and it hit a streetlight, and then set another off and caught a whole field on fire, and CONTINUED to set off fireworks!

Re: What's your plans for the 4th of July?

I chose "fireworks display" and "other". I have fireworks I'm going to light off tommorrow. We're staying home all weekend and basically cooking on the barbeque. I also just changed the oil, oil filter and air filter on my '87 Caprice. I also just replaced the rotted out rear bumper and added a class 1 hitch. I never had so much fun removing a bumper after 17+ years of northeast corrosion!<sarcasm> I also just picked up more fishing stuff today and I'm planning on going fishing later this weekend.

Re: What's your plans for the 4th of July?

Ok, I think I finally have plans for the 4th.. lol

I may be going to a car show, or to the lake, or both.. I haven't decided yet.

And watching fireworks is a definate must do since I missed them last year (cause I had my own) but hopefully I'm going to see them this year, one way or another.
