The probablem with 2 and 3 is that they require you have an OI/RC laying around. If this is ment as tool to share FIRST to people who haven't experienced it before, most people won't have it. For that matter, most FIRST team members won't even have one.
Hooking up to the OI/RC could be an extra feature, but I think we shouldn't even worry about it for now, besides making things abstract as possible, which we should do anyway (I.E. we call a function called getInput(), but we don't have to worry about how it does that).
I'd say that we should try to stick to just mouse and keyboard if at all possible.
FIRST is difficult and it is challenging, but you aren’t necessarily required to go off and build an 8 motor drivetrain and 4 motor / 8 pneumatic piston arm mechanism for the heck of it when a 2 motor non-shifting drivetrain and 2 motor arm does just as good a job. - Bill Gold [more]
