Re: When were you first spotted at a FIRST competition?

The first time anyone came up to me and call me by my CD name was in Atlanta last year. I just remember someone yelling "Hey sigmakid108" (my old cd name). Can't remember who it was (someone from 25 i think). I usually like to go to other peoples pit then have them come to mine cause then I get a chance to check out their robot.

Re: When were you first spotted at a FIRST competition?

hehe, the first person to ever spot me was actually the one and only Mr. Baker himself.... .... if I had only known who I was talking too, I don't think I would of been so calm in the presencs of the 2003 TechnoKat floor team including the famous Andy and DJ.

... the first time I ever heard any requests or was recognized was in Texas right after our arrival, and Matt (team 5) knew that Grant (evulish) was on 84.

//I wish I were only have as cool as I would like to be.

Well.. Technically, I wasn't spotted at a FIRST competition.. I was spotted at the WPI Frontiers program where FIRST people came up to me and went, "Are you Lisa Perez?"

Heh... yes I remember that. Team 84 was right behind team 45 in queing for our field. Our drive teams started talking. I remembered that 84 had a female driver who posted on CD under the name of "weedie" (or something like that), so I asked you if you were her. You had this suprised look on your face, and I realized that you were caught off guard.

Team 84 - Chuck is great. We allied with you (and 111) in '99 and came one match from winning the Championships. Oh, the memories.

----

As for when I was first recognized from involvement on these boards, it was probably around the time of '99 Nationals. That was when we had our first webhug. Kate Leach and Colleen Shaver asked me if I was Andy Baker. Also, we had a pit next to team 42, so I met Andy Grady at about the same time.

Re: When were you first spotted at a FIRST competition?

I think the first time anyone recognized who I was who I hadn't met first was Andy Baker at the 2001 Kickoff. This year I got a lot of "I recognize your name from Chief Delphi." I'm still trying to figure out if that was a good sign.

Matt
