Re: Sibblings
HAHA-youngest and i get treated the best lol-its probably the easiest-because your parents now know how to treat you, from their mistakes, and they tend to be more leniant because the older siblings are doing something, so they just let you go along.
Definitely no complaints. |

Re: Sibblings
I'm the oldest, but there are only 2 of us. My little* brother and I are very different, so I don't know how effective of a 'guinea pig' I am for my parents.
For the most part though, my parents treat us exactly the same concerning privleges and freedom at certain ages.*(I'm a senior, my bro is in 8th grade- He has a good 6 inches on me) |

Re: Sibblings
Im the youngest .. I have an older brother who is 18 and has just graduated from high school and is moving to Ireland for university next year ...
I like being youngest because there are some benefits and you do get treated a bit differently, that being said, I HATE being youngest because there are soo many double standards. Maybe its just in my family, but I know that my brother was allowed to do much more when he was 16 than I am now. And I know that if I try to do the things he is doing now at 18 when I am 18, I will still get in trouble, even though I will have moved out ... It is funny because my brother and I have never been really close, and there were times (apart from build-season) where we said literally 10 words to each other for about a week and a half ... but now that he is moving in September, we have become closer .. and despite all of our fights (both verbal and physical) I am going to miss him once he is gone ... |

Re: Sibblings
I'm the youngest ... just my sister and I! She is 21 and for a long time it was really hard for us because of the age difference! But then we sort of grew up and now she's my closest friend ... we always stick together and spend a lot of time with each other ... it's great
! With my parents ... its a different deal -- the things they went through with her ... were different (she was a very stay at home, minimal involvement in anything type of teenager). They had it easy with her and well I'm a different box of cookies. With all the things I do and all the organizations in which I'm involved in school they don't have it as easy! So its like a new learning experience for them ... but they are troopers and have always supported me, so its all good ! I don't get any special treatment because I'm the yougest ... my family doesn't think that way ... I actually get it harder ... but its ok!! ![]() |

Re: Sibblings
I have one older brother. He's on 1293 as well, and was at Palmetto.
He and I have the same kind of dry humor, except that he doesn't apply it nearly as much as I do (and often to his benefit). The funny thing is that both of us work at Piggly Wiggly, so now we mooch everything off of each other. Shirts, name tags...it's funny. |

Re: Sibblings
I was an only child for 12 years. My parents got divorced when I was 5 or 6 and then my dad remarried and had kids.
I have a sister who will be 13 this year and a brother who just turned 11. Both of them are already showing interest in joining the robotics team when they get older. I already let my brother walk with us during this year's memorial day parade, and he wore a shirt from nationals 2002 that I won on e-bay that was too small for me.. lol |

Re: Sibblings
I'm the second oldest out of 6. (All girls and 1 boy, but its okay though he's the oldest). I like my position. My brother is the guinea pig. Other then that though I don't really notice any different treatment between me and some of my sisters and brother. There is some but that’s only because they age range between us. My brother was entering college when my youngest sister was entering kindergarten.
It’s great. My parents are really involved in FIRST and it works great with the school. I just graduated from high school and one of my sisters (Angie) was there this year. So we easily kept up with FIRST. She's going to be a senior this year though. When she graduates my next sister (Emily) will be starting her freshmen year. ^_^ Then there are two more coming. We'll have a person in high school for the next 10 years straight. So you'll be seeing my family in FIRST for a long time. ^_^ |

Re: Sibblings
Youngest of 2......Ogre is my older brother
Its nice, although we're so close with one side of my family, its like i have 6 older brothers (im the only girl on that side, and the youngest) My parents had parenting boys down by my age between all my cousins and my brother, then BAM a girl, it's been interesting, I do a lot more school activties and outing with friends than my brother did, like freshman and sophmore year, i'd ask how late i could be out, and my parents weren't quite sure how to answer. They were like, what? go out? Its been a bit different, but a lot of fun. I was the guinea pig girl, so i was ALWAYS in dresses as a young child, by the time i was about 9 or 10, i was sick of it and didn't wear them for a good year or so. But we're back to normal now. Being the youngest is fun, although my parents have set different standards between me and my brother, sometimes that's no fun, cuz they know it, and when i go "but Jeffrey go to" they get to say "well you're not jeff are you??" |

Re: Sibblings
Hang on, this gets kinda confusing.
Summarizing the details below, I have 2 brothers, 1 half brother, 1 half sister, 4 step brothers and 3 step sisters. 7 are older than me and 4 are younger. Two older brothers (both older, @ 39 and 37): The eldest was high school valedictorian, basketball star and church youth group president. He got married, went to seminary, had two kids, and works in the business world and as a counselor. The middle brother was high school saludictorian, taught high school english, got married, had two kids (one is Austistic), and is a professor at Tenn. Tech. University. He and his wife both have their doctorate degrees in education. Needless to say, following these two dudes was (and is) not easy. My half brother is 23, and half sister is 21. One step sister is 41, one is 37, and one is 34. One step brother is 38, one is 36, one is 35, and one is 34. Three steps and the two halfs are on one side of the family (dad's) while the other 4 steps are are the other side (mom's - this is the hog farmin' side of the family). My wife is a saint. Having two sets of in-laws for her has to be hard to manage. My kids don't know all of their cousins, aunts and uncles. Holidays are chaotic. All of the family (either side) is never together at the same time, even at weddings. It is pretty ridiculus, but we have gotten used to it. Confused? It took me a while to figure out too. Andy B. Quote:
Personally I'm the youngest of twins. My twin, 6 minutes older than I, was considered mean by everyone around us til she made some friends in high school. She always resented my having friends thruout school. There were 3 sets of twins in high school with us. There was always an introvert, and an extrovert, in my opinion. I have 4 kids ages 16-31. I have 2 stepkids, by different moms. 1 is age 13. 1 is 18. My kids dad married a woman with 4 kids. My adult son married a single mom. My 12yo stepgranddaughter is best friends with my 13yo stepdaughter. I have 6 grandkids altogether. |

Re: Sibblings
Middle. I have a sister (5 years older), and two brothers (1 and 1/2 years older and 2 years younger). By the time we were in our teens my sister was the pretty, smart, popular one, I was the quiet bookworm, and my brothers were always in trouble. Between dealing with my sister's activities and achievements and cleaning up my brothers' messes, my parents were overwhelmed and I was pretty much allowed to come and go as I pleased.
