Re: Segway in the movies

I know it was a rerun tonight, (and this is an old thread) but the segway was on the Simpsons again. Mr. Burns had bought out all media outlets in Springfield, so Lisa starts up her own newspaper. Homer and company are out delivering papers, when first a black car driven by a Burns associate sideswipes them. They continue on. Then a helicopter decends and mashes into the top of their car. They continue on. Finally, a guy drives up alongside them on a segway, and runs them off the road. I wasn't set up to record the video, but I did freeze a frame:

Re: Segway in the movies

If you look carefully, they slipped a Segway into Paycheck, Minority Report and I, Robot.

I'm always keeping an eye out for Segway

I never saw a Segway in I, Robot, actually, I commented to my friend about how it wasn't good there wasn't any Segways in the future!

I could be wrong. I thought I saw one being driven across the bottom of the screen in an early scene in the movie (like when we first see Farber). Maybe I wanted to see one so much that my eyes started playing tricks on me! If anyone else saw one they can go ahead and post their account of it, I try not to make a habit of seeing Will Smith movies multiple times.

Re: Segway in the movies

It did have some pretty ridiculous product placements (Converse must have paid a huge amount. there was also a pretty blatant Audi one when you see his car stopping at the gate to the scientists house.), so I would believe it.

Re: Segway in the movies

I think it is great that Segway can get this much attention from the film industry, but i don't quite agree with the image that jack black may be leaving viewers with. I'm not too sure that the Segway is supposed to be portrayed as something that users and owners can be reckless with, even if they are wearing a helmet.
