When do you start to strategize
how do you strategize
where do you strategize
who do you strategize with
what do you strategize

And just anything else you can think of about strategizing. Do you like it, are you good at it, do you even know how, and all that good stuff.

Before we even get to an event we have our strategy laid out. And at the event we fine tune our strategy. As soon as we get our match list the main driver, the human player and I go to our alliance and talk with the drivers human player and coach, and just go from there. After that we go and talk to our opponent and see what weaknesses they have.After that we go and talk to our opponent and see what weaknesses they have. then we go back to our alliance and discuss what scouting we have on our opponents.

when: strategies happens when it is 5 minutes before the match.

how: find out what your robot can do along with the other teams.

where: in our allies pit if there have not came to us yet.

who: the driver and co pilot, maybe the coach.

what: how to win the match what else is there.

how do you strategize However. By myself sketching ideas, in groups, whatever
where do you strategize Wherever I am at the time.

No, I'm not exaggerating that. I am always stratagizing. From the day the game is released to just before the match starts. I play out a ton of scenarios with every kind of robot I can think of.
It helps alot to have a small group of people, 3 or 4, that work really well together. I had that in 2002, and it got us far.

when is this strategy taking place is it during the comp or during the build season? what are you looking for Corey?

Sometimes the rulebook gives out small strategy hints. I was checking for updates in the rulebook during build season, and it said how only humans were allowed to score by making the balls go in either goal, then there was an edit saying unless the balls fell from the chute into the mobile goal themselves. We hadn't thought of making our robot do this yet, but other teams had.
