[ECDU]: Offseason Events

Well-to go with the thread mike posted-heres this. What offseason events have you gone to so far, and how did you do, and then what events are you going to go to this fall.

First off-we had PARC-which wasnt that great of a day to start. We had a serious mechanical failure after the 2nd round of they day-it killed our arm for the whole competition. A robot had landed on top of us when trying to hang and there was some discrepancy to what made the arm die-either them going in, or us moving the arm. We arent sure
But we ended up winning the rest of the qualifying matches and came off the #5/6 seed. We picked 1403-then picked another robot that lost there arm during the day-11. We lost the first match of QF with 1403-then won the 2nd in an amazing match with 11. The third we lost with 1403 by one ball, so they say, we believe otherwise. But you know how it goes.

Next we had First Frenzy-Overall a bad day, more mech probs-with a drill motor failure almost costing us the whole day. We ended up fixing it and winning the competition with 19 and 1089, against 1403-1279-and 56.

Later in the fall, we will be making the normal rounds of Duel on the Delaware and Ramp Riot.

We also our hosting Brunswick Eruption again, the third year in a row-id definitely recommend it, itll be a great event. With the likes of many famous firsters and also some halloween themed ideas.

Anything that I post is an opinion from my own mind. Some may agree with it, others may not. However do not negatively associate anyone else, including any team I work with, with my opinion.

Re: [ECDU]: Offseason Events

We went to Beantown Blitz and were 4-2 or 3-3, not sure which. We were picked by 61 then 1100 joined us and we ended up winning (I operated some of the qualifications only). We also got the engineering elegance award! It was a great event and I thought it was the most fun I had had so far at a robotics competition. (And that's saying something!)

Next was Battlecry @ WPI 5. We did very well there and 782 picked us and then 596 was selected. We won the quarters but during the semis our bot broke, yet our allies won the third match for us then went in the first match of the finals. Thanks to our engineers we were up and running once it was our turn in the finals, and we won our first match then lost in the last one. Overall a great event, and quite an experience.

We will definitely go to Bash @ The Beach, and our mentor is deliberating over going to Brunswick Eruption.

Re: [ECDU]: Offseason Events

Who else is planning on going to offseason events on the East Coast? Perhaps we can get together and start organizing more ECDU stuff (sponsors, pins, etc.) or at least meet in person...As I said we will be going to Bash @ the Beach, but no word yet on if we are going to BE.
