O ya i know that-im just saying after week one-they are the best performers, i knew someone was gonna say that you cant look at the heisman after week one-shouldve said best of the week.

I do think Harris will have a great season though and be some may look at him as a possible pick, but ultimately wont win it. He will probably end up with Big East player of the year.

underrated team- University of Virginia-#20

Terrific front 7 on D, top 5 at least in the nation, They have excellent RB's, great o-line,Heath Miller, and a smart enough QB to challenge and maybe win the ACC title

Re: The College Football 2004 Thread

For all you Purdue kids, they looked tough today and absolutely destroyed Syracuse 51-0.

Heismans an easy pick. I don't think it would be fair not to give it to Darren Sproles barring a Barry Sanders performance by someone else. He ran 221 yds in the first game. Check out Darren Sproles for Heisman to see some stats and video. I would definitely reccomend downloading and watching this video

Jason White will not repeat (I think heisman voters feel ripped off after his non Heisman like finish last year), but I think Oklahoma is up to the challenge of winning it all despite a slow start.

After watching K-state play yesterday I have mixed feelings. They only beat Western Kentucky 27-13, a dismal performance for a game that should be 60 something to nothing. Still the Wildcats rushed for 300yrds and passed for nearly 200. They just couldn't finish in the redzone. Defense had a subpar start too, but I'm confident it will get a lot better over the next couple weeks. Only question is will it be quick enough, a good Fresno State team is in Manhattan next Saturday.

Re: The College Football 2004 Thread

You all know I love to toot Stanford's horn, but after handily dismantling a better than average BYU team with a very confusing defense (Who beat ND last week, also a better than average team, who happed to beat those guys that callthemselves the Wolverines), Stanford has arrived on the radar.

Probably not a threat to go to the Rose Bowl, but definitely a threat to surprise some other teams who thought theyd have no problem running right over Stanford

Oh, the humanity.... *sigh* It was a bit depressing to be there and watch all the ND fans rush the field. And, also, for the 5th (?) year in a row, we dropped a non-conference road game. It's still early in the season, though, and early losses are always easier to overcome in the rankings than late losses (see Oklahoma in 2003, dropped from #1 to #3 after a conference championship loss).

If I had to predict... U-M will lose one more game (probably on the road to Purdue or at home to Minnesota) and finish the regular season 9-2, ranked somewhere #6-10. Anyways, just my little prediction, there... we shall see.

Re: The College Football 2004 Thread

I'm still saddened over my Gamecocks, who dropped it late to Georgia 20-16. But this week, we've got South Florida, which I think ought to be pretty good.

Let the Leverette-Kowski smack talk begin!

(Just kidding, Stephen--it's all good.)

Re: The College Football 2004 Thread

Both Georgia and Oklahoma will lose on Saturday.

I think Miami has the ability to go all they way, except at QB, Brock Berlin has not impressed me at all. So I think they will lose one game (possibly to either Clemson or Virginia Tech), but still win the ACC.

USC will defeat Texas in the Orange Bowl for the National Championship.

Cedric Benson will win the Heisman, with Matt Leinart in a close second.
