Go to Post Temp wiring is always bad but it is made worse when dealing with a $1000 part. You wouldn't try to lash a makeshift power source to your PC. - Al Skierkiewicz [more]

[OCCRA]: the motor sprockets

i have not been able to attend the workshops, and the guys from our team that did attend were not involved last year and therefore didnt note some things.
last year we attached a steel rod to the end or the drill transmission through a clamp thingy with the pins.. forgot what its called
this year, do we do the same thing?
the guys that attended were saying something about threading some sprockets and using the reverse screws to keep it on.. well, the only sprockets we have are the ones with the separate "hub" which we screw on to tighten against the rod... and the holes are not good for the end of the motor transmission...
so did we forget to recieve some special sprockets? or do we go the same way we did last year?

You are defiantly at a disadvantage not having attended the workshops. here is a quick review:

New this year are new drill motors. NO they do not mount to the shafts with a coupling like in the past. The sprockets are threaded and go on the end of the motor a special washer and left handed special screw is then used to secure the sprocket.

New this year is the way to mount the drive motors. You will need to fabricate a clamping system to use the boss on the drill motor as the clamping surface. We had two types of simple mounts at the workshops and pictures are posted.

Please read the rule over several times as these are but a few of the changes.
