Trading Cards

For all teams at the regional competitions, you may have noticed members of Team 811 by the escalator and around the pits, collecting and organizing information to make Trading Cards. We would greatly appreciate any feedback you had regarding this endeavor. What did you like? What did you dislike? What would you like to see next year? For any teams not at this year's Championship event, look for us next year! If you would like additional information, post to this thread and I'll gladly get back to you.

Re: Trading Cards

One thing that would be cool is if you made the cards 3D. There was this company in RI a while back that made trading cards by having a picture on each side of the card, but one was shifted perfectly so when you put them in a viewer, you could see a perfect 3D image. It was really cool.

Re: Trading Cards

My whole team really liked the idea when the lady came by and asked us to verify our information. The only problem was we never got our cd with the card on it, every one was looking for it but no one found it.

Re: Trading Cards

My team was also upset that we didn't recieve our cd. But we understand how busy you were trying to make everyone's cards. We were wicked excited to have someone follow through with the idea.

Re: Trading Cards

For all the teams who were talked to but didn't get a CD at the Championships, then we will get it to you as soon as possible. We didn't foresee how popular this would be, and after all-nighters on Thursday and Friday, we found we still were not done. We probably collected information on how to contact you (if we didn't- let us know!), and we'll send you either your CD or the files ASAP.

About the idea of 3-D cards- wow, that sounds awesome! We are DEFINATELY (see how definate I am???) going to look into that for next year.

Re: Trading Cards

Trading card for FIRST would be pretty elite. They could have information about the bot like drive system statistics, game abilities, and power moves like the '639 Death Grip' from 2002. You cant front on that.

A full-line of FIRST Trading Cards? Sounds like a popularity upgrade on FIRST's behalf, but who's complaining. FIRST needs more participants anyway. By the way, what is the '639 Death Grip' from '02?

My team had a similar idea about trading cards. Ours was for each team to make their own trading cards to give out at competitions. I'm trying to get teams to make trading cards. If you and your team are still interested please reply.
