TEAM #365 Chairman's Award (continued)

Sorry for this additional post, but I forgot some important points about our Chairman's Award entry...

* We inaugurated the MOEwards this season. In previous seasons, we presented awards to teams, but this season we "kicked it up a notch." The MOEwards look sweet. The nice thing is that they were free and our team members were actively involved in making them. The award categories are true FIRST - Gracious Professionalism, Safety, Functional Integrity, etc. The awards themselves were made of scrap CORIAN(tm) material that was donated from DuPont. The material was engraved for us and students bonded, colored, and routed the finished products. For a list of all who received the first set of these beauties, check out our website at www.moerobotics.com under competitions. More will be presented at Nationals. See our award coordinator Jim McGeehin for more details!

* Our team is fortunate that we have many parents actively involved in the team. This season, we created the MOE Boosterz, which consists of team member parents, many who are full team members due to their contributions to the team. Some areas where the parents assist are in Team Sustenance, Giveaways, Scholarships, Permission Slips, Playing Field Construction, Finances, etc. We salute all of our MOE Boosterz this season - we could not have done it without you!

* We realize that the engineers and adult mentors are sacrificing significant family time during the season. Last season, we had special shirts made up just for the spouses and significant others who sacrificed also while the season wore on. The shirts were labeled MIRACLE WORKERZ WIDOWZ, because these folks were, indeed, widowz (or widowerz) for the first few months of the year. As you can guess, these jerseys are now collectors items!

* Our MOE UPPET! After we shipped L'il MOE last year, our students were looking for something to do (robot withdrawal!). They developed our signature UPPET that was worn by a number of folks last year, including our famed uppetologist, Andrea Tribo (Ducky). The uppet became more than a mascot for us last season. We hope to continue the tradition at Nationals this year, which will be the inauguration of our MASCOT COMPETITION. Please feel free to compete. Info will be made available.

That's it.

Mr. MOE
Team #365
