American Teams Coming To Canada

Team 859, West Virginia University & Morgantown High School, is the first American team to sign up for a Canadian event for the 2005 season. They signed up for the Super Regional in Toronto. So it begs the question, what other American teams are ready to take the cross border challenge?

For the past two seasons Canadian teams have won down south (188 in W. Mich in 2003, 1114 in LI in 2004), and American teams have won up north (378 in Toronto in 2003, 33 & 639 in Toronto in 2004)

Are the big boys ready to take their show to the north side? Come on up to Waterloo and Toronto, and show us what you're made of, eh?.

Due to financial constraints, 639 may be unable to attend the GTA regional... I'm working on getting $3000 so we can.

Re: American Teams Coming To Canada

I think that plenty of team could go to canada, they just dont realize that there is as much depth up there than there actually is! our top alliance partner was from there (1241) and there are so many strong teams. I think i might try to get us to a super regional sometime

Re: American Teams Coming To Canada

We'd love to attend Toronto! Currently, we are trying to dig up some new sponsors and maybe, just maybe, this dream could become a reality for us in either 2005 or 2006.

There are a load of amazing teams up there and we'd love to take you all on

Re: American Teams Coming To Canada

I've tried to talk 818 into going to one of the Canadian regionals, but no one else seems to want to head up north with me. For what it's worth, though, we'd be competing in Canada if I had my way.

As of right now there are seven American teams signed up for Toronto.

I'm under the impression that Woburn (188) is going to California, but as is stands right now they're only registered for Waterloo and Pittsburgh. I take this to mean they're doing 3 regionals this year. Steve or Jeff, care to clarify?

Re: American Teams Coming To Canada

That is correct. Waterloo, Pittsburgh and SoCal. I don't think that 188 will be going to Championships for the first time in our history. IF we win a regional, well ...................
