[OCCRA]: different battery chargers?

is it allowed to use a different sealed lead acid battery charger.
the one I would like to use has way more safety features than the ones in the kit.
one of the safety features is amperage and voltage regulation.
just wondering cause we cant afford another battery charger from the kit. so i hope the team can borrow my personal one.

Re: [OCCRA]: different battery chargers?

We have specified a charger that matches what every team has available and also what is safe for the batteries we are using. What is important it to match the amp rating of the charger. Each team was given a charger when they first got their origional kit of parts. Please contact Mike McIntyre at OTC to get another.

It is very dangerous to use the wrong battery charger. When it comes to charging these batteries the wrong charger can destroy your battery, cause a fire or actually explode the battery with the dangers of battery acid.
