Idea judgement.... and ice cream.

To be quick, I'm the new webmaster for our team, 783 Mobotics.

Recently I was fooling around in photoshop, and came up with this graphic. I decided to use this small idea as a base for our new website. However, I decided to obtain other's opinions first.

Ignore the hexagons and the circles...and we are still debating the rebirth thing. The font will change, blah blah blah.

Opinions are appreciated, thanks.

(Please do not reply with your favorite ice cream flavor.. nor your favorite ice cream consitency. Soft, hard its all good. Debates over cones vs cups are acceptable. Uhhh... don't even mention frozen yogurt.)

If i posed it as a question, I would get a reply related to ice cream, which I didn't want. So I excluded the question mark. But, I got a reply related to ice cream anyways.

and some other random stuff.

I've made a new one.

BTW... I was never really a sonic fan, dont know what you're talking about.

I think they look pretty cool (w/o the floor, it'd be a cool logo). And I, personally, would loose the comment on ice cream. (It is really random)

As Jamie said, it would look really cool as a logo. (Maybe put that emblem thing in flash and animate it somehow.. that would be awesome)

I'm fine with the gel/gloss/whatever theme if you can keep it under control... but honestly, I feel that making everything look like reflective glass... its overdone and is starting to (IMO) look tacky.

Looking at the piece as artwork... I think its technically a good piece. The reflection on the ground is slightly confusing because it looks like an otherwise unreflective ground is somehow magically reflecting all of a sudden, and then cuts off. Another thing is also that the plate looks slightly unbalanced, everything is shunted to the right, and I think the text needs more breathing room so that everything is more comfortable to read.

Re Konfabulator: Saw it. Played with it. Deleted it. LiteStep is all I need for spinkee-fying my Windows boot really. Big high-color icons are all the rage, but you really don't need to use Konfabulator or any of the more recent crop of desktop apps to use them...
