Not so much at high school - but at the Technical School I attended out in the Chicago area. Student was drinking during the day (when his roommates where gone, and he was supposed to be at work) and since there was no one else there he ended up drinking too much, puked, and choked on his own puke...

No one I knew died durring high school or college, but I think 2 or 3 (out of ~2600) died while I was in high school. I know two died in a car accident, and there were probaly more.

We've only had one death since I entered ETEP...some girl passed away after a long battle with cancer (can't quite remember which at the moment). I wasn't very close to her but I'd met her once...it was sad.
In Brazil you only get your driver's license after the age of 18, and most of the students have graduated by then, so we never get any problems with driving...i'm sure some kids get high now and then and we've got gang members around too, but fortunately so far we haven't had to deal with any fatal accudentes...
