Monday, Today Show on NBC. All I heard was that there will be a new product announcement.

Unless new versions of segway's are powered by a sterling engine and that is the announcement, I'm guessing that the Centaur is going to be unveiled as open to be bought by the public.

I'm going with a variety show of Segway LLC. Batteries, Centaur, possibly a redone (revamped) P model, announcement of a new CEO, etc, etc. Just a whole bunch of info throughout the morning show on Segway and its happenings.

Let's be serious everyone...
A tech company doesn't go on the today show if they're announcing better batteries or a new CEO. They have obviosly developed a new product. I'm going with Elgin on this one and say we're about to see the Centaur go public. In my opinion, this is where the Segway technology will shine.

DOH!! I just thought of something.

I liked my idea of the centaur going public too.. but maybe the whole company is going public.

Yes. Segway has made a new product. It's the HT mixed with an ATV. Popular Science had an article on it.

Yes, articles for the Centaur have been out for over a month now. I just doubt the only thing Segway would be appearing for is the "showing" of a concept transporter.

No, Segway has not made a new product. They are developing a new toy, but as the PopSci article says, "The Centaur won’t necessarily become a consumer product."

I just hope it lowers the cost of the Segways that are available as of now. That would make it easier for me to get one .

Dont count on it being the Cent.

And Its possible that the new product will use the new batteries and a similar set will be available after the first of the year for current HT's.

It makes sense that segway would release a low cost machine at the start of the Holiday season.. the problem is it will have to ship in time for christmas.

And as the 501 kids can tell you it does not look like segway is running any new models off the line right now.

The Segway GT is not a model from Segway LLC. It was made up of 3rd party accessories by Segway OF America, one of Segway LLC's dealers in Texas. There will be an accessory available soon from Segway LLC that allows a golf bag to be attached to the Segway HT.
