Lightbulb A FIRST Golden Book

I spit out yet another idea. Whachu guys think? We could brainwa... err... EDUCATE the little ones to aspire to be Robotic Sportspeople instead of Basketball or Football stars! Not that golden books did that anyways, but, bah... my logic is so faulty... Eh, at least the idea is out there now B^)

My favorite Golden Book when I was little was The Pokey Little Puppy. I snuck out all the time and came back late for supper. I learned from them, so can the new batch. I say we check with Baker and see if it'll work with Lucy. LOL, I don't want anuone to think I'm being serious unless he agrees with the idea.

Daddy, what does inhale aubitly mean? Try explaining that one to your kid without corrupting them too much a such a young, impressionable stage.

Yeah, tell a 4 year old kid that and you've got a future problem child on your hands.

Well, you could say "stink", but then it doesn't sound as good. Either way, they're gonna hear the word someday.

But if they don't hear it when they're really young they can decide for themselves, before it becomes a common part of their vocab, if it's a word they wanna use.

Well if they join FIRST, they're required to use "inhale audibly".

in my experiance (oldest of 5, experiance is sorta extensive...) people using 'bad' language (which is something i have a problem with. how can a word be inherantly wrong, but thats a different debate...) isnt what corrupts children. its the parents who then go and make a big deal out of the bad word. if you say "set screws suck", the child is most likely not even going to notice. howerver if someone says that, then the childs parent flips out about the persons language, suprise, suprise, little childs curiousity has just been activated...
dont take that the wrong way...im not advocating using words on which society frowns in front of impressionable ears, because the child is impressionable. im more saying that some people get to be crazy and blow it out of porportion.
on the other hand, im not a parent (which is probably a good thing...) so what do i know.

I agree to a point. If you don't make a big deal out of a word the child's interest is not peaked. However, if the child here's the word often it will still become a part of the vocab. Either way it's a debate. In my personal opinion these "bad" words are only taboo because society frowns on them, for now. In Britain "bad" words are different than here. Go fig.

Personally, I don't see how a word can be bad either. Especially since the Constitution gives us freedom of speech.
