What reciever should I buy for my home stereo?

I'm a big fan of Pioneer, Onkyo, and Denon. Looking at those speaker models, they're pretty old (and huge! 4 floor-standing speakers in dorm!?). I'd take a look for older Denon or Onkyo models on ebay. If you're going to be using those older speakers for a while, I probably wouldn't buy a brand new receiver since the cheaper one's aren't very good and a more expensive one would probably be overkill.
