Re: 2005 Kickoff broadcast
Delay in webcast.
SInce we use real media or windows media in webcasting there is a minimum built in buffering delay of 15 to 30 seconds. Depending on numerous factors (connection length of braodcast, number of viewers) The buffering delay can be longer. In theory it shouldn't be more than a minut or two, but a couple of years ago I heard one unconfirmed report of a 1/2 hour. Don't panic - If you miss the live webcast, the archive will be up by Monday if not before. We are doing things a bit differently this year and using the NASA Portal for the primary webcast. The internal older NASA SAVIG network will be used as a backup. All webcst sources will be listed on REP |
