When you use those shaded safety glasses as actual sunglasses

When your costume is your school uniform, only made out of duct tape

When the announcements for robotics come on the PA, and everyone turns around and goes, "(Insert your name here)!!!"

yup us too!! i just wish the plastic stuff was juuust a bit more smaller. the thing itself was tiny but where the shoelaces go through was too big. it was annoying while running for me. rc cars have been using them alot but for a cc meet it was interesting. too bad they didnt get the split times.

Re: You might be a FIRSTER if...

...if you've ever worn a skirt/ pants to school full of buttons to show your spirit

...if you find yourself two weeks behind in chem homework because the robot is so much more important

...if going to a competition is a natural high

...if your robot is your baby

Re: You might be a FIRSTER if...

If you find zip-ties that are 3 feet long and go crazy.

You smell like WD40 and like it

You yell out team names if you see their number somewhere.

You wear nothing but robotics shirts to school, the grocery store, weddings...

You're wearing something robotics as you read this (Team 71 shirt and 830 carabiner for me).

Your doctor tells you to lose weight and you whip out the hole saw.

1:00 AM is too early to sleep.

Every discussion somehow evolves into robotics.

When you worry about limit switch weight on your real-life jobs...

(During the 4 Vs 0 year one of our engineers seriously worried that 1 or 2 limit switches where going to put us over weight, but it didn't)

You might be a FIRSTER if.....

your hair-tie breaks, so you put of you hair up with a zip-tie
you PLAN on dying your hair tips fire engine red for competitions, just like your brother did his senior year
a miniature model of your hand was on the robot in 2002 and many engineers claim that "Lisa's hand made us win"
you're taking up to 3 weeks off of work for robotics
you get a job, and have to wear denim button down shirts and think DEAN!!!
you talking about going to a pre-kickoff party at lunch, and no one gets it
you are ultra excited about the pre-kickoff party
you try to lobby a donation for you team from your place of employment, even though you KNOW they can't do that
you're posting on this thread

You might be a FIRSTER if...

you consider Jan, 8 a religious holiday
if there is a space on your wall dedicated to FIRST team buttons
If you have FIRST shirts hanging on your bedroom wall as decoration
