Question How to put Inventor pics on the web

I might answer my own question but how does one put Inventor files on a website so that they can be viewed? Is it as simple as saving them as a *.jpg? Is that an option, I have never saved my inventor files that way...Is it also possible so save inventor movie files so that they can be viewed on the web? When I say movie, I mean the ability to have a part rotate and such through a prescribed range...

Thanks,

APS

You can save inventor files as .bmp and then open it up with paint and then save them as .jpeg

you can also hit print screen, then paste the image in ms paint or any related image editing software.

Didnt want to make a new post... but to answer your question about saving an animation in inventor as a movie file such as .avi or .wmv...

you can save the animation as a AVI file from inventor and then if you do need to then convert it to .wmv with a converter.

hope this helps...

</edit>.

<edit again>

Just to point out there are many ways to save image and the movies. I just pointed out 1 way for each of them. you can use whatever you feel comfortable with. thanks...

</edit again>

Just crop the image, any decent program can do it, even Paint!

The JPEG compression in Paint is not adjustable, and it is hard-coded to be very lossy. If you would prefer higher quality JPEGs than Paint makes, use a "real" imaging program, like Photoshop or The GIMP (which is like Photoshop, but free).

Re: How to put Inventor pics on the web

Well, if you want to see how last year's Inventor Award-winning team did it, go to their site which gives the specifics.

In any case, if you want good resolution for the design image, you should go the "save as bmp" route rather than do a screen capture. It will give you more uniform, and in most cases higher resolution, images. The exception (there's always an exception, isn't there?) would be if you are illustrating the use of Inventor or capturing a problem using Inventor, in which case by all means, do the screen shot.

Re: How to put Inventor pics on the web

Saving as an AVI

If you use the "Drive Constraint" Feature, there is a red circle button which looks like a record button. It records the constraints movement between two sets of values into an AVI file. I use this to demonstrate how pieces come apart (like how a transmission and side plates are modular, come apart, and go back together). Gimma a shout on AIM: Specialagentjim if you need more help doing that.
