The giant glass pyramid--constructed of miniature glass triangles--that is at the front of the Louvre was designed by I.M. Pei, which is pronounced "Pi".

Both Neun & Burns were 1st base (only 1st basemen to do the triple). Pi Schwert? played for the Yankees in 1914-5 while Burns played for the Tigers in those years. Amethyst, You, and Me are all capitalized (proper names).

I have no idea what to expect, beyond a sinking feeling that I'll have to learn how to program the IR beacons. We'll see tomorrow morning, I guess...and let's try to enjoy the ride, whatever it ends up being.

Awesome--I didn't realize he had done Rock and Roll hall of fame as well. So that's a triple connection.


Also...think about the statement. "between you, me, and pi". We know who "you" and "me" refer to. What would someone who wished to identify themselves as Pi say? "I am Pi". I. M. Pei.

alright, i got tired of reading this at like page 18 or 19

but i did have an idea...

what if the field is like a trivial pursuit board? it's round or hex shaped ( it's been a while since i've played)...you run around and pick up pieces of pie and when you have all your pies you goto the center...and trivial pursuit has 6 pieces of pie to collect

what if you had to do autonomous at the end of the match to get to the center and the person w/the most pie pieces scores the most points?

way back when it was 1 v 1 v 1 on a hex shaped field they ran 2 fields so that one match would be going on while the other was setting up...leaving non stop action for the spectators.

The night before kickoff, and I'm surprised nobody has posted this idea yet:


After all of the focus on coopertition over the past four years, I was thinking about how purple (amethyst) was a combination of blue and red. What if the center was out, or it was a neutral zone, where points (or a multiplier) counted for both teams?

Whereas before, you could only score for you or your opponent, making almost certain that the weaker alliance would get blown out of the water, now you would have an area where both alliances would want to score (and not descore), in addition to the individual scoring zones.


Incedently, I predict that the field will probably be similar to the past couple of years, because of all of the regionals (new diamond plating for 30 regionals? you've got to be kidding!), we'll probably still have spherical scoring units, and autonomous and infrared will be more important than ever.

The BEST robotics competition this year featured a game field where many scoring locations would score points for both teams. There were as many of those as personal scoring areas (for the balls to be collected in the game). The idea is a good one and perhaps FIRST was inspired by BEST's system.

Could it be that little curvy thing after the i in Pi and before the words You and Me? What does a comma do anyways?
It separates items in a series - so maybe it does indicate that one team (Pi) is separated from the other 2 teams (You and Me).

Maybe, its a game where 2 Purple robots play against 2 Red and 2 Blue.

Maybe, its a game where the colored LEDs change from Red, to Blue to Purple (red and blue together) every 30 seconds, such that the only way to assure victory is to play hard to score when paired with everyone. Kinda takes defense out of the equation and forces cooperation between everyone.

There were TWO plays named George Burns. The one who was the National League MVP played Left Field. Note: His career batting average is almost exactly equal to that of Neun.
