How many tetras?

I couldnt find it in the manual, so I'll ask. Is there a set number of tetras that can be used in the game, or we are to asume that the loading stations have unlimited acess to them? It did say that Tetras that are out of play will be used to supply the loading station, but it never said how much each station has. If it does say somewhere, abuse me as much as possible for my bad reading skills.
