Re: Slashdot story on Triple Play

Sending the hoards to slashdot the videos (as I see has happened), and giving a shoutout to your team in the tagline? Tsk tsk.

Re: Slashdot story on Triple Play

Oh no, now we have even more geeks hogging the bandwidth!

Luckily I already downloaded everything I need.

Re: Slashdot story on Triple Play

The last sentence of the article - the "shoutout to my team" - wasn't meant in a negative way. It's not like I ended the story by listing teams that we're planning on destroying in competition (the current list is none, by the way) or by saying something that goes contrary to the ideals of FIRST.

To be honest, I didn't think about the bandwidth issues when I posted the link. It's worth noting that the two links in the story seem to be holding up wonderfully, though. The NASA page has been hideously slow every time I've tried it today, and it will be for some time to come until everyone gets what they need.

In the end, though, I think it's going to be worth it. Do we really need the videos and the files immediately? How many teams will be working at the current time or through the night? I think you're overlooking the upside of teh story...

If the story can get even one more person to become involved in FIRST, isn't it worth the minor inconvenience?
