Re: Elements for the Feild
Umm... my team (1341) got 51st out of 51 places at the FL regionals, using extremely buggy programming code that had us lose the 10th round because the software mentor/programmer decided to change the programming too much between the 9th and 10th round, effectively disabling the robot.
Even though a few members on the team (We have 11 members by the way, nothing like the 70 member legion teams have, up from 6 last year) now know C and C++, and our new sponsor's robotics staff know VB, the new language does help a little to prevent any major problems like changing one value in the code that other rookie teams might encounter. |

Yov, opinions on the game can go in this thread.
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=32307 I am still getting an error when I try to open those files. Firefox returns a 404. http://www2.usfirst.org/2005comp/200...s_Overview.pdf http://www2.usfirst.org/2005comp/200..._Materials.PDF http://www2.usfirst.org/2005comp/200...int_Colors.PDF Wetzel |

Re: Elements for the Feild
I realize what I said earlier should have been worded far better, and I’m truly sorry for offending anyone, what I said was meant to be in a humorous manner, I don’t think the game is bad at all, and I wouldn't’t want my money back even if I had given any, which I didn’t mean seriously either.
I really do appreciate the help for rookie teams FIRST gives us, and can’t wait to start building, it really is amazing that such a program is organized so efficiently every year, I imagine it’s quite a job designing a totally new game every year, arranging the kit of parts, and mostly keeping it all in secret! My post honestly was not meant in the way is sounds, I guess at 3 AM Israel time it made more sense in my head, re-reading it I can defiantly see it really wasn’t all that funny, and highly misleading… In the future, I will try to make my posts understandable as they were meant to be written (I don’t know the right word, my English isn’t very good), in any case I’m sorry for any trouble caused, and I hope I didn’t cause too much harm to my team and it’s reputation, because we really are a great team, and by that I don’t mean that my teammates are good robot builders, I mean they are great people. P.S. I was a little frustrated last night, trying to get the Robovation bot to pick up a ping-pong ball, good news though, we got it working this morning! |
