Re: Robot Ship Deadline, huge issue.

I do not understand the problem. In every printed document, Kickoff broadcast, and prior FIRST history, the ship date has always been a Tuesday, 6 weeks later. Which is Feb 22, 2005. The only time it has been changed was in case of extremely bad weather.

That mistake only appears on that page as an example of the fix-it windows.
Te ship date is still Tuesday Feb. 22, 2005.

It's just one of those things that you want clarificaiton on. Did you assume the robot is still 30 x 36 because it was in previous years, even though its now 28 x 38? Just because it was once, doesnt mean it is now.

It's an issue that needs to have attention drawn to it simply because you don't want one team saying "Oh, but we thought it was earlier, we got cheated out of two days" or something like that. Clarification is always good

Re: Robot Ship Deadline, huge issue.

I was so confused by the fix-it window thing too.. So I re-read that section of the manual- 5.3.3 (pg. 8-9 on Section 5- the robot).
"The “FIX-IT WINDOW” following the robot shipment deadline closes at 5:00pm on the Thursday following robot shipment deadline." <R13> (pg. 9 of that section)
Thus, the shipping date is February 22nd (a Tuesday), and the following Thursday is February 24th. It does not say "the next Thursday," but "the Thursday following."
Anyways, hope this clears up officially by FIRST soon, just in case.
