Inspiration for Engineering

What inspired you to become part of this great engineering project?

---> For me, it has got to be the movie Armageddon (the best movie in the world). Now I dream about working at NASA and maybe designing the shuttle that takes the first human to Mars. (or maybe saving the earth from an asteroid)

well for me i have always had a vested interest in math and science...and when i was in HS a few years ago we used to take part in the solar car race. we were at a convention and there was a team presenting FIRST, that night i went and signed us up to be a team and ever since then i have been hooked.....full time right now I am working on an entry for the DARPA grand challenge and i still mentor in FIRST because i love passing on the experience and my knowledge to let others to get the chances i have had.

I was all up in swim team for a while, and my freshmen year, I had a girl in my lane who was in Robotics at my school and loved it. We weren't that old of a team then, but she talked about all these awesome stories and experiences and inspirations, and that helped me join. Since then I've gladly abandoned chlorine to sit in the lab almost every day.
