BEI Gyrochip

I was doing an inventory of all our electrical equipment and realized my team has two unused gyrochips from the 2001 and 2002 competition years.

I was wondering if anyone has looked into the possibility of using them in this year’s competition. To do this we would have to get them for under $200 and I have not found a source this cheap at the moment.

Re: BEI Gyrochip

I've been searching, but I think it's not commercially available for some time.
Now it's possible to buy the Gyrochip II, but I don't remember the price.

It's better to contact FIRST and discover about that.

Last year there was a thread about this. The Q was can we use the gyro chip on the 2004 bot? The A from First was NO as it was a custom item built for First and would not be a COTS item. There was a similar version from the manufacture, however I think most went with the chip version, as it was smaller and lighter. Search for gyro and follow the threads.

Re: BEI Gyrochip

They also sold a version of this at the FIRST Yard Sale..

I have 2 gyros from past years; one from 2003 (AQRS-00XXX-104) and from a previous year (AQRS-00075-FIRST)

Would either of these be legal?

Also, is there a list of blacklisted items? (say.. from FIRST yard sales or any other illegal part)
