Prob. With Windows 2k

Hello,

We have currently installed MPLab IDE and C18 in our school computers, but when we launch th MPLab IDE , it gives a warning :

"Minimun requirementes for software to run is Windows SP2"

After we click OK , it just launches the Software normally.

Are there any side effects on the program , if the computer doesn't have SP2 on our version of WIN2k..?

Thanks...

Re: Prob. With Windows 2k

I'm not sure if or how it will affect the program to leave it the way it is but I definitely would recommend doing Windows Updates (under the "Tools" menu in Internet Explorer). Also, keep running windows update until there are no more because sometimes updates will spawn new updates especially if you haven't done it in a while.

Re: Prob. With Windows 2k

Have you tested the IFI_Loader as well? I seem to remember having a problem with an older version of IFI_Loader that required W2K SP2.

There are probably specific MPLAB functions that won't operate correctly unless you have SP2, such as the simulator.
