We thought we had everything working. This is the FRC Code 2005 2.2, when we send it to the robot via IFI we get that error. What is it? Also note that the ifi is able to send last years code fine. Our compiler version is 2.4.
Thanks-again.

Re: What is this error message?

Looks like a core dump to me. I've seen this happen on older computers (which have slower serial ports) or a computer using a cheap USB to Serial adapter. Loading some files (such as the old default code) will work, but files over a certain size will fail.

If possible, try loading your code from a faster computer.

Where did you see this "error message"? I imagine it must show up in the IFI Loader's terminal window. What version of the loader are you using?

I agree with Zan that it looks like a memory dump. Exactly what file are you downloading? I haven't been able to identify a "FRC Code 2005 2.2".

Re: What is this error message?

The infamous notepad core dump. If I remember rightly it actually pops up in a new notepad window.

The only time I've seen it happen on pure default code was when you're using the 2004 original version of IFI_loader v1.0.5 (in IFI_Loader click on "About" to see the version #). The original had a bug that only allowed it to download 16K instead of the available 32K. Make sure you've downloaded the latest from the IFI site.

I've seen it occur usually due to running out of RAM or data memory, but that won't be the case with the default code.
Translation: You've added too many new variables and used (in total) more than the 1800 bytes the controller has available.
