Program Port Y-cable

I saw a reference to a Y-cable for the program port in the new default code. The Y-cable would allow you to use both the program port and the Breaker Panel at the same time. I was wondering if anyone know where I could buy one or a wiring diagram so that teams can build one for them selves.

Code:
/* Add your own code here. (a printf will not be displayed
when connected to the breaker panel unless a Y cable is used) */

Re: Program Port Y-cable

I was wondering what that meant. Now I understand what it meant, but I am wondering the same thing.

You can buy them here: http://www.stonewallcable.com/dept.asp?dept_id=56

If it will work, I don't know.

Re: Program Port Y-cable

Wait a second...
Isn't there only one data line?...well, two if you consider each direction a seperate line. If three devices are connected to the same RS-232 line, I'm pretty sure only two of them can talk to each other. The other would either just get confused or interfere with the communciations. Unless of course there's some negotiation I don't know about...

Re: Program Port Y-cable

IFI has released a wiring diagram for a Y-cable that will serve this purpose.

They also have released a device reader that seems very interesting.

The Y-cable seems to be only for printing debug statements on the PC not programming the RC.
