Is it possible to see who has viewed the posts?

Maybe have an extra link inside each post? Ah course we could always ask the people we want to know if they read our posts or not, but it would just be interesting to see who reads and doesnt post. Though that may make some people upset at others... hmm... Just an idea.

Also, when I first went to log out I had to search for the little "log out" link. Is it possible to put that on every page at both the top and the bottom of the pages?

The board doesnt keep track of exactly who viewed the thread, just how many people have viewed the thread. Something to keep in mind, though

I agree with the logout link idea. Sometimes it gets hard to find if you're not thinking completely.

It wouldn't be all that hard to add in though... a simple little message board hack

You just need to find where the php script sends the query that updates the view counter, add a field in the database table for user, find the session var responsible for keeping track of the current user, and rap it all togeather and insert it with the updated counter.

Then just write a simple little script to pull that info back out.

im just lazy right now, well... acutally i'm wrapping up the new and improved picture galleries.

then im moving onto the White Papers submission scripts (so i dont have to actually do work when posting White Papers)

The other day I went through the entire phpBB board's code and mod'ed it so i could choose what table names i wanted it to use... my database already had a users table, and i sure wansn't going to work around it for that board

Took be forever though.

The logout link is now on every page at the bottom right, along with a 'back to top' link, because some of the pages get long, and im lazy and dont want to scroll up to the top

why do people log out anyways? the only reason that i can think of is if more than one person posts on the same computer, like the gilberts. and brandon who does webmaster stuff. i surf with cookies so mine is always logged in. it's easier that way.

If the ChiefDelphi Forums are being viewed from a public place (school, library, etc. .) the viewers will probably want to logout, to prevent other users from compromising the integrity of their account.

i personally think ive logged out maybe 3 times...when i had other rambots with cd acounts over

For me it's just a common thing. I had to for awhile when I let my internet service lapse and when I was at school. Now it just comes naturally.
