Using previous years pneumatics?

What of the previous years pneumatics are we allowed to use? The way I read the "2005 Part Use Flowchart" we may only use the air cylinders and solenoids from previous years kits. Note that the flowchart says "Is it a PURCHASED fitting or valve rated for 125psi". To me that implies did the team purchase it this year NOT did it come in a previous years kit. Does this mean that all of the fittings and last years green hose may not be used? What about using last years air compressor as a spare? If we want to take a spare air compressor to competition just in case of a failure does that mean we have to go buy a new one even though we have one of the exact same compressor (by part number) from a previous year? That would seem kind of dumb to me, but following the flow chart we would not be able to put it on our robot if the one we got this year failed because we did not purchase it separately from the KOP. We hooked up our pneumatics this weekend and just to keep things straight we used this years black hose for everything on the "high" pressure (120psi max) side of the regulator and last years green hose for everything on the "low" pressure (60psi max) side of the regulator. It seemed like a good idea to me until I double checked the 2005 flowchart this morning. We also were short a couple of the quick connect elbow fittings so we just grabbed some of the same ones from the left over pneumatics stuff from last year. Are we legal or not? Someone please tell me I am nitpicking the rules. I just don't want to show up to our regional and find out we can't use last years hose because it is green and not black. I sure don't want to have to order some more fittings when we have plenty of the same ones left over from previous years just to satisfy the "purchased" rule. I read "purchased" as different than "COTS". To me "COTS" means that it is a standard part available for purchase. "Purchased" means that I went and paid someone money in return for a standard part this build season.

Someone please tell me I am wrong and point me to the rule that clears this up. I can't seem to find in the the robot rules or pneumatics manual.

Thanks,
Chuck
