HELP!!! the ifi loader is giving me errors

First of all i cant update with the master code and second when i load the defult code hex file the ifi says invalid hex file unable to download. can anyone help me?

Could you be a little more specific about how you are attempting to load the updated Master Code?

i connect the serial cable to the rc and then connect the teather to the oi then i hit the programming button on the rc then i go to the computer and open the ifi loader then put it to port 3 and then verifythe device and it connects from there i should be able to open the hex file and download it to the rc but the ifi says that the hex file i opend is invalid

try recompiling(Project->Build All) the HEX file from MP-LAB,
and make sure that you have all of the settings set in Language Tool-set, and make sure that you have the right PIC-set.

We had a similar error message, although the problem could be different. Our problem was caused because I used the _SIMULATOR compiler flag when I was checking if we could use MPLAB to run the code in simulation mode (which didn't work due to a lack of support for the serial I/O).

Anyway, when I subsequently tried to load the .HEX file to the RC, the IFI Loader made the same complaint about the file. By removing that flag, via Project->Build Options...->Project->MPLAB C18 tab, the IFI Loader stopped complaining. Note that even if you clear the flag by removing it in the Macro Definitions window, if you are using the alternative settings, you must clear the flag there. I hope this this solves your problem. Maybe you didn;t download the master code- it's on the ifirobotics.com/rc.shtml site, with instructions included.
