That is a beautiful cart, me and a few other from my team saw you guys in atl and were inspired to make a cart, 4 of us funded our cart project privatly as a surprise to the team, whats straped to ours is an 1800 watt 5 channel amp, about 2000 watts of audio run off the amp and the stereo (too many speakers than i care to list), a police beacon, spinning rim grills for our 12 inch subs, 2 lcd's run off our stereo/dvd player and a custom paint job thanks to our schools toyota automotive paint program. The thing is powered off a heavy duty, heavy cycle marine battey (3 days to charge, lasts for...3 days)

That's legit!! Simple and small is the way to go. Is it motorized?

I think this year 3593 is going to try and build a drivable cart; we haven't ever had the funds to do it before now

Re: Coolest 'Bot Carts

I have yet to see any robot carts like truck towns at the competitions I've gone to but I have seen some pretty cool ones. My favorite is team 2013 the cybergnomes. Their cart is very nice looking and can be actually driven around instead of just pushed which I think is pretty awesome. It even has safety lights and sounds to let people know when it's coming and going.

7 year old thread? No reason not to resurrect it

Though on the note of the Cybergnomes, they also had a motorized battery cart that you could sit on and an RC sound system.

Re: Coolest 'Bot Carts

while i can't find a picture of it...the robot cart 4451 used at Palmetto
(and probably will use at CMP) was pretty neat. It was a little 50's
style like Ford? pickup truck. Deam Kamen was the driver and the robot
sat in the bed of the truck.

Here's a photo from the 4451 website:

They also have a virtual tour of their pit area....pristine...I guess that's what happens when you show up with a robot that's actually finished. Mad props to 4451!

Our team's cart is mounted on an electric wheelchair base so we drive the cart instead of pushing it.

This cart back in 07' caused the "No Loud Music" on carts rule.

We still haven't made anything to top it....but if 1102 returns to world again soon... it's rumored we are going to break out the fog machines.

Re: Coolest 'Bot Carts

Hello from FIRST Team 1305 in Canada,
In 2011, Our Past Captain Alex Wilcox was fed up with the traditional cart and H-frame our team had used for many years, so, he built us a new custom cart. Our cart is about five feet long by two/three feet wide. It's painted Blue (our team's color) with the 1305 decals in white. The detachable handle (for travel and storage) also houses the controls for the custom electronics inside, including a warning light system (8 Yellow LED lights) that can set to flash intermittently or stay solid, a warning horn that can be triggered manually or can be set to "honk" in a similar fashion to a truck backing up, as well as a detachable strobe light (on a 4-foot pole) that can be attached to the front right-hand side and can be set to flash intermittently. This is all powered by a standard FRC battery (usually one that is older or isn't used for the competition bot) which in turn is hooked up to a battery charger that can be plugged though a wall socket. The power system is controlled though a box on the front to set it to ON, OFF, or CHARGE. The platform the robot system features to Two by Fours that are adjustable for the robot to sit on. The platform itself can be removed to reveal enough space to stack three rows of orbis bins (up to three high) on the cart for load-in and pack up. The space underneath this raised, detachable platform is hallow, allowing for the storage of bumpers. Finally, the shelving in between the pneumatic tire drive-train can hold up to three fully charged batteries each, with one per side. We have joked that we want to install transmissions on the drive train and completely automate the driving of the cart, but its always in the back of our minds.
