Red face The Environment

If you listen to Dean's comments.

The idea that the environment was important (Water) was a key part of it. Well I agree and after looking at the event on both Tuesday and Sunday (the day before and after). I am depressed to report we left the place worse than we found it. The amount of garbage we left behind was an insult to the environment and Dean's comments.

I would like every team to think amount and consider when they come in the future to be more enviromentally aware. Take the extra minute and clean up after yourselves. Make Disney proud that we come and want us back.

A few extra minutes to clean-up goes along way to help the First organization and Disney.

Sorry again for the lecture.

With Respects:

While your group did an excellent job. The post of my orginal post was aimed more at generalisms. I know this is uncommon, but I am saying thank you for your help.

While I agree with your comments, there's one thing to keep in mind...having been at several regional events after teardown was completed, I have to say that when figuring in the large difference in number of attendees between a regional and nationals, percentage-wise, what I saw of the epcot arena after everyone cleared out was not much worse than I've seen at the regional events...having seen numerous sporting event venues after the crowds clear out(even those where food was supposedly not allowed in the stands), I have to say that it could end up being a lot worse...

Garbage duty

I agree completely with the problem raised. Our team always stays after at MMR to help clean up (since there is nothing else to do around our hotel). This year we helped the staff vacuum and fix the carpet, redo the reflective tape on the goals, and pick up the big trash in the stands. We like to help out, but it would be so much nicer if every team spent 5 extra minutes with a few garbage bags in hand to help out the staff. As we were walkiing back from the team party to our vans, we were shocked by the huge piles of garbage that were forming. Maybe there should be an award for the cleanest team! (Just kidding)

Jenni:

Maybe you are right. You never know awards all start as ideas and even the thought or suggestion being made is all it takes.

I know next years robot... a Garbage removal contents

Chow for now...

I'm pretty sure it's been brought up before, but along with the environment topic, it was also pretty sad how everyone was wasting all that water, especially after what dean just talked about.
