Halo 2 Tournament @ Sac. Regional

We here at team 1323 want to host a Halo 2 tournament @ the Sac. regional. we want suggestions on what multiplayer game modes you all would most want to play.
We are thinking of asking for 1-2 representatives from each team (the best players) to participate. 16 players per round....4 xboxs...and shown on projectors so everyone can see.
any suggestions/concerns/comments would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!
team 1323 spirit leader,
berto

Re: Halo 2 Tournament @ Sac. Regional

If you can find the room to do that, that would be cool. The pits are kinda crammed. Also, I think that it might be a good idea to askfor FIRST permission before doing anything like this... otherwise its a cool idea.

GO 1403!!!

I'm sure you can round up at least 2 (probably many more) people from team 114 for this if it goes through

Re: Halo 2 Tournament @ Sac. Regional

We just hosted a Halo 2 Tournament as a fundraiser. We made a marginal 350, but combined with our other fundraisers we pay for decent size of our travel cost to one regional.

Tips:
-Teams
- Always have team playing on projectors, TVs are too small
- Use easier to play types; we used TFFA or TCTF, oddball, KOTH

- Solo
- Give each person their own screen
- Bring your own controller: Too many people walk away with other person's

I can give you more tips, but need to know if it is a fundraiser, or just for fun. Also ask some of the guys who play in regular halo tourneys. We had two of them help us set up the matches, and they were able to tell us how to run it.

Re: Halo 2 Tournament @ Sac. Regional

wow what a fun idea, you guys think you could set something up at nationals too? It'd be even more fun with more people. You could have brackets and multiple sets of 4 connected xboxs. Dang that'd be awesome.

Re: Halo 2 Tournament @ Sac. Regional

Right on, Right on,...

My team did a HALO2 tournament this year, we did marginal for fundraising, but it sure was fun! *cough* from what i hear, i had to work...grumble *cough*

one thing i can say is make sure you preregister players and make a tournament roster sheet before!!!! like have all the teams participating email names/player tags/rank to you, and then you make brackets that are fair and just.

good luck!

My team will be at the Buckeye regional, which is held in Cleveland. We host internal HALO tourneys between team members. Ryan M. (some of you might know), is the current champion! If we stay at the same hotel as last time we'll be in the Embassy Suites Hotel, which is like 3 blocks away from the competition arena (the hotel is really nice!).

Re: Halo 2 Tournament @ Sac. Regional

I gotta say, doing all swords on lockout is a very fun game mode. You should try it sometime. That being said, 1 flag ctf on Headlong is good as well.

Also all magnums with no shields.
All needlers.

Actually, maybe I am the only one who would enjoy all needlers. Those things are awesome.
