Doug, this might be just because it's my team you are referring too but I find the tone your comment a bit offensive. If I'm way of base here just let me know. It so happens that in that match we had our one and only mechanical problem of the competition, that being a loss of pneumatic pressure. This resulted in us being stuck out of gear. I'd have to check on this but I’m pretty sure my cat can push our robot when its out of gear, as there is no resistance left in the drive train. Can you say you have never broken down in a match? Would you like people to refer to those matches as though they were your robots best performance? That doesn't sound a whole lot like gracious professionalism to me.

I agree with DTK. Doug's comments seemed like a low blow to me. The Festo valve does not operate under 27psi, as we found out, and never had the problem again. Also, about DTK's cat, his cat is pretty old and weak, but I agree that if we are stuck in neuteral it could probably limp around the field and trap us in our endzone. I urge everyone to please keep their comments as gracious as possible. Robots malfunction, it happens.
Thanks for understanding jya |

looks like the moderators agree
It appears as though doug's comment was removed so apparently the moderators agreed that it was rather inappropriate.

No matter what anyone else wants to think, your team was unbelievable. Also thank you for exibiting gracious professionalism during the batch of bad luck that was thrown at us in the divisional finals. We have our theories about why we lost power, but we all know that FIRST hardly ever grants rematches so there is no sense in being bitter about it.

hey guys, sorry bout that...Doug has been reprimended by both myself and our driver Tom. He was just a little annoyed because when he was scouting I guess someone said something which he took offense at...probably just a misunderstanding. PLease dont think in anyway that we are mad about what happened. Nats was a fun experience for all of us, and if we wre a little shocked, it is to be expected. You were an awesome robot 469, I know that noone doubts it. =)

totally correct
First off, I'd like to thank all the nice comments about our bot. We worked our butts off just like everyone else and our eginneers are some of the greatest people in the world, not only to work with, but just to hang around. I do, however, agree with JGreenwd1 in saying that our bot did not perform at maximum performance. Our practice rounds were great, but as soon as Qualification rounds game about, our bot was suffering from electrical problems. Our robot was for some reason completely shutting down at times, rendering it motionless. This problem was found to be a faulty fuse which was finally replaced. Also our human shooter, who was just phenomenal at regionals was also off, however we were also up against some extremely buff bots.
As for the best robots, Wildstang is just crazy fast, even with two goals, Beatty is unstoppable, but only on the right conditions. 308 has some of the most beefy pneumatics i've ever seen, as does Kingman who is even more manuverable. And RAGE, congratz on being the winning ball bot! However, I don't agree with the SPAM bot. I'm probably extremely biased because this is the reason we lost, I don't agree with the plastic wedge on thier bot used to lift robots off the ground. It's not battle bots. However in the rules it does state you can move robots into your home zone, however they really weren't shoving Wildstang twords thier home zone, but once again, i'm extremely biased. All of the bots at Nationals should give themselves a huge round of applause just for being there. Everyone worked just as hard and just as long as we did, so I think every bot there was the best bots. |

These are my picks
Best 2 goal grabber 469--This robot can push anybody and is the strongest robot there. Best Ball collector 95--Wins hands down, 20 balls in 5 seonds, no one can top that Best Ball Dumper 121--I'm not bragging but I think we could really dump the balls and use ourselves as a backboard Best Drive Train 47--Could serve with ease Best 3 goal grabber 71--Seems the most robust of all the 3 goal grabber I saw Best Extender 230--They had it all in this |

For me, there were too many great robots to name them all. I still say the best is 469. ![]() I must give a lot of credit to our partners, 311 and 180. Those were two incredible machines and teams. I hope we get to play together in the future. And by the way, I thought 180's wedge was awesome! -Chris |

My vote goes to team 60's robot. There were definitely some great robots out there, but I think team 60 had a great concept with lifting the goals, and especially having their arms on a turret. I thought everything about their robot was great (maybe I'm a little biased because we were their alliance partners) but you have to admit that it is a great machine.

GO BIONIC BULLDOGS YAY! Team 60 was rocking the house when we had picked them for the division finals. They played awesomely and because of them we didn't lose one match up until the national semi-finals against beatty.
That's my vote! |

To be perfectly clear, what SPAM did was completely within the rules and allowed. They flat out beat us with an excellent bot and a nice wedge addition. My vote for most awesome bot is a tie between 469 & 60. When the divisions were announced I thought that the #1 seed in Archimedes had the best chance to win the championship just because I knew the'd be a good ball bot and that 469 was almost unstoppable. 60 was also an amazing machine, fast to the goals and lots of power. I really wish we got to see 469 & 60 face off, each rushing between the goals and pulling them back & forth for 2 mins. Mike |
