Re: pic: Strong Lift

i call your bluff, unless those benches are lead painted to look like wood, there is no way that it wouldent tip, even for how close the tetra is to the center of the base.

sorry, but my vote is photoshopped

It's the Neutral Bouyancy Labratory (NBL) part of Johnson Space Center. It's where the really big pool that astronauts train in is located. Those Cylinders are space station parts or mockups of space station parts that go in the pool with the astronauts so they have something to play with.

Re: pic: Strong Lift

I believe it's a true picture
I just doubt that the arm would not fall over. If you look really close you can see the Aramid Fibers attaching the top of the arm to the Sky Hooks (tm)
They probably have steel rods in the PVC pipes to keep them from bending or that's a very light student

Re: pic: Strong Lift

A pro can do ANYTHING with photoshop, they can doctor a photo and totally change it, yet keep it so realistic that it's nearly impossible to tell that they did. One of my teammates created a very convincing image of a nuclear reactor blowing up.

Photoshopped

If you look close enough it appears that there are 2 clamps holding the pole onto the lift.
