Your little gearbox hooked up to the window motor seems a lot like our real gearbox for our drive train.

That's the van door motor, not a window motor. That gearbox is also not "little" by any means. It still weighs quite a bit, even after cutting down the gears. You can see a closer picture of the gearbox in a more unfinished state here.
