Re: Hey! Your robot looks like mine!

It is harder to have many differences in the abilities of the actual built robot, there are a few different things you can do...
But the main reason that everyone has an arm is because you need it to score any significant amount of points.... Unlike last year, where you could do many things, this year ist just stack and stack.
And if you do not stack and just pust some tetras to the bottom area, you only get one third of how many points that you would get if you stacked.
And of course most people want to get the most amount of points they can, so they all build something with an arm.

The differences between the robots will be with the speed, stability, and several other noticable things that aren't as noticable.

Re: Hey! Your robot looks like mine!

I think you will see some similarity in the robots because the game stays on a single plane. You don't have to climb stairs or hang.
Every robot will probably have an arm, of some sort, to pick up tetras.
I will go out on a limb and state that there will be NO robot like ours in it's construction. Pictures to come later

Re: Hey! Your robot looks like mine!

I'd say that our grabbing mechanism is pretty unique. However one of our original ideas (that got thrown out for various reasons) has been used by a team local to us. I'm not sure if we want to show pics of our robot yet, so you'll have to wait till the competition
