Re: pic: 1403 Teaser....

I am really impressed Aroon, nice to see you took some of our advice and built it of a stronger material and designed for more power and being able to take a hit. Great upgrade over last year.

Out of curiousity, how high are you guys off the ground, it looks like your skimming it. And how high is your arm???

Who says they have an arm? Last year, 1403 went with the somewhat unusual ball catching approach. Maybe they will be doing something interesting again.

I have an anonymous tip...Well i have seen other pictures, this is the first i actually saw of the base. However, the pictures that i saw have been rather empty, only giving bits and pieces of the manipulator, and never giving any proportions.

From what I have heard, our arm can could probably break through concrete. That picture is coming next. Yea cory, our chassis was inspired by you guys. We are about .25 inches from the ground. Maybe a little lower, don't worry we aren't skimming the ground.

GO 1403!!!

Good news, its not wood.
Even better news, there are no drill motors.

There is NOTHING wrong with using wood for your chassis or part of your robot. You just have to know how to use it. Team 195 has used a wooden chassis in 2003 and went through the whole season successfully.

... There is always a way, you just have to find it.

as for the robot, great job guys... you are one of the rookies whose name I heard the most past season.

You're right. But the way they used it last year was not so good. Also, it was pretty darn good for a rookie. It competed well, but since I fixed their robot at times during the off season, I knew they had their downfalls.

just to wake you up zoo, if your using wood in the right application, its often better than metal since its much more malleable. And yeah, well it was the right angle drive that killed us, not the motors.
