Team 1132 Robot Video

OK All, here's some video of our robot (finally!)
Here's a few things to keep in mind:
Our pneumatics has a major leak in the vid, but we ran with it, so, our arm is not (i would estimate from our previous testing) even half of the speed and force it normally exerts. But, note our multipositioning
Also, we've treaded up our wheels (using a quickfix) so our system has improved turning. Oh, and dont worry about our manipulator bar, it's not done yet, but done enough to lift a tetra...
The footage was captured by one of our mentors with their Palm Zire. So, it's not perfect, but good enough.
Here's the links:

Re: Team 1132 Robot Video

Nice job. I like your robot. You guys think about using a diffrent manipulator on the arm so that you dont have the tetras slip off?

Re: Team 1132 Robot Video

Things look good and I'm sure that the multi-position system in place for that pneumatic piston will be advantageous for things like grabbing tetras from the automatic loading station. If the chair in your video is a stand-in for that station, the method you used to grab the tetra would not work and the multi-positioning would need to be used.

Good work.

Re: Team 1132 Robot Video

Yeah, we are in the size reqs. Our manipulator bar starts in an upward position, and locks down at startup.
Thanks for the positive feedback!
Any more questions?

Can the arm go all the way up with a tetra on it?

Re: Team 1132 Robot Video

Yeah we can fully lift the tetra such that the base of the tetra is just over 8 ft high.
We can probably lift one of those chairs as well, if you'd like

I have read alot of comments from other users about arm length on other threads, so I wanted to explain the reasoning in our design.
We decided to go with an arm that could stack a few tetras on the center goal, but not be overly large. We wanted good control over them.
Rather than being "outcapped" we can get the center goal to our max height, then block it off. We've combined offence and defence in our design, and I think it's really going to help.
We finally fixed the leak in our selenoid last night, and we played with the pressure level. When our piston was run at 60psi, I nearly put a hole in my roof!
We're now running it at 40psi, and that's a great balance for us (more video soon!)
Thanks for the comments!

Re: Team 1132 Robot Video

Looks really good! Your arm is impressive! I was going to suggest a stop of some sort so the tetra didn't fall off but sounds like you already took care of that! Great video and audio too!
