Hell yeah I saw one of those...

It was about 2:30 in the morning, and me, a few guys from my team, and two guys from 203 were talking in front of our hotel building (herbie 7 at all-star movies) when we noticed an armadillo outside the entrance to the building. We chased it into some bushes, then through the halls of our hotel before it finally dived into a wet bog behind the hotel.

dead

I should have brought this one back to michigan. saved his life. gave him some corn. petted his hard shell. he would have been happy here. i don't think he would have fit in my suitcase, though.

Yep, got to see one. It was funny too, because my S.O., Eric (an engineer) and Griffen (a student) were in the middle of snapping each other with wet towels when Eric started yelling for us to turn around. We thought it was a trick, so we wouldn't turn around. Finally, in a pained voice, he yelled "Behind you!" and we looked just in time to see it run into some bushes. Pretty cool!

We saw one, but then again they are a common site in florida. You will see at least ten of them laying on the side of the highway on the trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando. I've heard they make good pets if you dont mind them burrowing into your couch...

wildlife sightings

I shared my breakfast one morning with some baby duckies and a crow. The crow was especially pushy!

We had Swamp Rabbits everywhere and some very friendly White Ibis

The weirdest wildlife I saw at Port Orleans was a Mole Skink crossing one of the walkways ( a nearly legless lizard found only in the Fla highlands). I couldn't grab him though- but I tried!

Well, I almost shared my bed with a very large Palmetto bug (also known as an American Roach or a flying cockroach): http://entweb.clemson.edu/cuentres/c...hold/ce180.htm

We came in late Friday night and there it was sitting on my pillow, waving it's antennas around, trying to look cute so I wouldn't kick it out of bed. Of course, it went into a cup and over the side of the balcony. I guess I should have checked to see if anyone was down there, but I didn't hear any screams, so...
