The PWM Cables

Is our team the only one who is having PWM cable troubles? Our robot will be working for one second, then a speed controller will start flashing orange. Upon changing the cable with 4 other ones, everything is magically working again. Have other teams been having problems? Know a local store(Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Radio Shack, etc) that sells new PWM cables.
