Thanks for all the complements. One reason it is so heavy is that there is no external sprocket and chain (or other means of) reduction. It is all done in the box. The output shaft of this gearbox directly drives a 5.5" wheel by means of flex coupling. It is geared to run at 15.4 fps and 5.8 fps no load, so we are probably looking at something like 14 fps and 5 fps in reality. What a beast!
