How long does it take you to recover?

I still have not recovered from the build. Hands staind from oil, fingers cut from sharp metal and tools, brain dazed, body exhausted. Maybe next week I will have fully recovered. How long does it take you?

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

Good timing, Sanddrag. I think I just got the first bit of homework i have done in about 4 weeks done. I definitley still have cuts, and the stress is only just starting to wear off. Give me, oh, say two weeks to fully recover. Wait, thats our first competiton...

Luckily I have break next week so I'll have plenty of time to recover my grades. Emotionaly, I kinda prefer the build season mentality.

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

We have a break this week.
And I'm having a hard time not spending all of my time here on chiefdelphi and/or other FIRST websites.
That, and playing chess. I've spent two full days like this already....

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

Like Prabhas said, we're on break. But I only had yesterday to recover. I spent all of today doing homework since I leave for the Boston area for Olin College tomorrow morning.

In any case, there's really no need for recovery for those people going to a first weekend regional. We'll be covered in robotics soon enough.

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

For me and probably many other spammers it is harder to recover from the realization that build season is over than the physical weariness that goes along with it.

But then you relize that competitions are coming up

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

I have not recovered yet either. I am still pretty sick. I am soo tired.. I am also tired right now because I got up early but that is a different story. It takes me till about the first regional to recover! I hope that I can recover before then.. That would be much better!

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

Well, I still have the gouges in my hands and the bags under my eyes and the stress-induced upper back pain, so I guess I won't quite get back to "normal" until after the Manchester regional next weekend. Too much planning and packing up and worrying!

This year I have been a lot more invested in my team than ever, and it's incredibly rewarding to see the finished product (both a working robot and a group of individuals from different backgrounds who work quite harmoniously with one another).

For my birthday a couple of weeks ago, my mom thought it would be nice to get me a relaxing manicure and pedicure. I didn't have the heart to tell her that my hands would be mangled within a week. And let's face it, it was pretty awesome to just sit in a massaging chair and be pampered.

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

I'm not sure, but i don't think anyone ever actually fully recovers. Build season may be over, but now we can look forward to regionals, and for some of us Atlanta, and then after that we look forward to the off-season comps, and random projects, and then before you know it, it's december and the new season is jsut a month or so away!

yeah that was a big run-on sentence....mountain dew, san andreas, and lack of sleep will do it to you.

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

I was lucky enough to get the flu right at the end of build season, so physically it's been tough. Mentally? I think build season is a recovery from the rest of the year. You learn so much i nso little time that it's like, a culture shock for the brain.

I am getting ready to give out awesome free hugs at comps.

Short people to Power!

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

Umm 9 days, well I kinda have to recover by Wednesday because I will need plenty of energy for the BAE SYSTEMS Regional in New Hampshire. 9 days of rest to burn my self out again in 3 days.

Re: How long does it take you to recover?

Well, one full week later and I still haven't recovered. Still oversleeping, struggling to stay awake, constantly tired, etc. For the build season I had so much energy, but now I am just so exhausted. It might take another full week.
