Development

I just want to know how to make the flat pattern (development) for a cylindrical sheet metal part. Please tell the steps involved in the making of cylindrical shape also.

circles are always tough to work with. I would sugest making a sheet. Then make a sketch and draw a line at the center point. Use Bend and instead of regular bend radiuses, set a larger one (the size you want). I havent tried this, but This is how I would start. I con't help you much more today becuase We are going to be at VCU

<edit> For the flat pattern, there is a tool in the toolbar when you are editing the part (not a sketch or a parent assembly) that says "Flat Pattern". click this to show the flat pattern. this will show all the centers of the bends and what shape metel will be needed. I don't know what this will look like. It might look just like a rectangle with a centerline through it. it may include the bend radius, but I havent bent anything but the standard bend radius.</edit>
